Who are we?

About Us

Kolektif 509 was created to celebrate and promote the unique creative talent of Contemporary Artists residing in Haiti by organizing collective and individual art exhibits both locally and internationally. Its mission is to give support to emerging and/or established Contemporary artists by creating opportunities to make their artwork visible to art lovers around the world.

Kolektif 509 was originally created by Xavier Dalencour & Valerie Noisette, two artists with a passion for the contemporary arts in Haiti.  The idea behind Kolektif 509 came from the growing need from emerging and established artist in Haiti to have a venue to showcase their work. “There is a new generation of very talented artists, and there are many artists who are known internationally but not so much in their own country. We wanted to bring these artists together to show to the public what new innovations are being done in Haitian art today.“

Kolektif 509 represents artists who work on all types of mediums including: paintings, photography, video installations, video performances, digital art, drawings, & sculptures.  Kolektif 509 hopes to revolutionalize the way people view Haitian art both locally and internationally, and at the same time provide a service to emerging and establishing artists in Haiti by creating a platform that encourages them to grow their art.

To date, Kolektif 509 has organized over two dozen art exhibits, and has featured the works of 80 contemporary artists both Haitian and International.
